About the role

The role's main purpose is ensuring the company purchases raw materials and packaging cost-effectively and to appropriate quality standards. Responsibilities include becoming a market expert in allocated categories, representing the purchasing team at business-critical meetings, developing procurement category strategies for allocated spend areas, and implementing procurement strategies to maintain security of supply. The role negotiates supplier contracts on total cost and service, forecasts price and market trends to track shifts in buyer/supplier power, and tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce costs and improve effectiveness. It manages vendor performance through vendor rating, acting on poor performance, and runs joint improvement plans and cross-functional quarterly reviews with key suppliers.
